  • Sleaford Green etc Inspection Report

Please see the inspection report, which has been uploaded to the Documents section of this page.

Seven tenants participated in the inspection, with three attending in person and four joining online. Additional feedback was also received from other tenants via post and email.

Twelve staff members took part in the walkabout to experience the condition of the estate first-hand and to respond to specialist queries. Attendees included colleagues from Lettings, Tenancy Management, ASB, and Community Safety, alongside staff from Norwich City Services Limited (NCSL), who work directly on the estate.

Two local councillors also attended and shared valuable insight into local issues—one representing the City Council and the other the County Council.

The estate walkabout at Sleaford Green received very positive feedback from residents, councillors, and contractors. Tenants reported that they felt listened to and valued, and welcomed the opportunity to speak directly with council officers and elected members. Councillors commented positively on the organisation, structure, and delivery of the walkabout.

Council staff made a concerted effort to engage meaningfully with tenants throughout the visit, ensuring they felt respected, valued, and heard. This approach helped to create a constructive and collaborative atmosphere.

NCSL Environmental also provided positive feedback and welcomed the opportunity to participate. Transparent and honest scoring was completed against the Benchmark Housing Standards, highlighting both strengths and areas for improvement. These results will be published online to ensure openness and to enable tenants to see how their estate is performing and what actions will follow.

A number of issues were identified during the walkabout and actions have been agreed. For example, residents raised concerns about the condition of pathways and the impact this has on less able residents. This issue has now been referred to the Repairs team.
