The proposed redesign of Waterloo Park playground
The playground design and layout The aim of the project is to redesign the playground to be inclusive and accessible for everyone, using the PIPA definition of inclusive play spaces. Children of all ages and abilities, including those who use wheelchairs, have sensory needs, or learn differently, will be able to play together. About the design: Everyone can join in: There's equipment for all ages and abilities Equipment: Includes swings, slides, a seesaw, group rope swing, inclusive carousel, swingers, multi-sensory dome, trampoline, swinger and spinner bowls and a rope bridge. Safe and sound: The ground is sand and wet pour safety surfacing, and there are clear paths for easy movement. Sensory fun: Different textures, sounds, and sights will stimulate all the senses. Children can use their creativity and play together in lots of ways.
