Welcome to your tenancy consultation

Last summer, over 500 residents shared their valuable insights on our proposed tenancy strategy, policy and agreement. We’re grateful for their contributions, as they significantly shaped the revised documents.

Now, we’re seeking feedback from tenants who have joined since August 2023.

The tenancy strategy, policy and agreement were last updated in 2013, so it is important we bring it up to date. We're consulting you on proposed changes that:

  • reflect changes to the housing regulations and general good practice
  • clearly explain how we grant and manage tenancies
  • clearly explain what we expect from providers of social housing
  • clearly explain your rights and obligations as a tenant, and support to help you maintain your tenancy.

Have your say!

The consultation opens on Thursday 29 February 2024 until Sunday 31 March 2024

Your opinion matters

We are required to consult you on proposed changes to our tenancy strategy, policy and agreement. But more importantly, we want to consult you. Your opinion matters to us, and by participating you can influence the way we do things, and this can make a difference for all residents.

As well as asking tenants views, we're consulting social housing providers and others who work with us to provide, manage, and support tenancies.

We provide more than 18,000 homes in Norwich, of which 14,700 are available for let and 3,300 are leasehold. We remain committed to secure lifetime tenancies for all tenants who successfully complete an introductory tenancy.

We believe our tenancy strategy, policy and agreement will contribute to mixed and balanced communities, with individuals and families settled in decent homes that you value, with advice and support delivered by people who care.

Why is the tenancy agreement changing?

Our current tenancy agreement was last updated in 2010, and some of the terms used need to reflect changes in law and be clear.
