Norwich City Council has secured £7.6 million from the Levelling Up Fund for a Health and Wellbeing project to improve Sloughbottom Park and Dolphin Path. This investment will create a more inclusive, accessible, and vibrant space for everyone in Norwich, supporting health, wellbeing, and community activity while enhancing biodiversity. The project is also supported by the Greater Norwich Growth Board (GNGB).

The project will deliver regeneration and new community and sporting facilities to support active lifestyles, raise aspirations and promote economic activity. The full regeneration project includes:

  • Refurbishment of existing Pavilion to include café, public toilets, and community room
  • Car park, paths, signage, and lighting
  • Repairs to Dolphin Path
  • BMX track improvements and modular storage
  • Destination Play Area
  • All-weather football pitch
  • New Sports Hub with Changing Places Toilet

Planning application and how to comment: Some elements of the project require planning permission before work can begin. At this stage, there are two aspects which require planning permission. These are:

  • All-weather pitch
  • New Sports Hub with Changing Places Toilet

  • Norwich City Council has received funding from the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) to deliver the project outlined above. 

    While we’re working closely with community and voluntary organisations through our Steering Group and focus groups, we also want to hear from the wider community about the park.
