We want to hear your thoughts on priorities for improving the condition of Norwich’s rivers.
The city council held a public meeting on 19 October to discuss Norwich's rivers. Whether you attended, watched online, or did not take part, you can share your views here.
The survey will remain open throughout the new ‘Where the River Meets Us’ festival, a city-wide celebration of Norwich’s rivers and until Sunday 15 November.
What we’re asking
This survey is an early chance to share your views on rivers. It isn’t a formal consultation. A longer consultation on a new rivers strategy and action plan will take place at a later date. If you'd like to be kept informed, you can leave your email address at the bottom of the page or at end of this survey.
We’re asking a few broad questions, the same ones discussed at Scrutiny committee:
What are the problems facing the rivers, and the people who use them?
What wider problems could this cause for the city?
What could help solve them?
How could solutions be managed, funded and carried out?
We're also asking for feedback on two draft documents: the Norwich Rivers Charter and the Norwich Rivers Pledge.
The Charter sets out a shared vision and guiding principles for how Norwich's rivers should be protected, restored and valued in the future.
The Pledge focuses on practical actions that residents, businesses, organisations and community groups can take to help improve river health and support this vision.
You can read the full draft Charter and Pledge using the links provided. A short summary of each document is included within this survey to help you answer the questions.
The survey will be open from Monday 19 October until Sunday 15 November 2026.

We want to hear your views on the future of Norwich's rivers. Whether you regularly use the rivers, live nearby, work in the city or simply care about the local environment, your feedback is important.
The survey is open until Sunday 15 November 2026. Responses will help shape the final Norwich Rivers Charter and Norwich Rivers Pledge, and inform future plans to protect and improve Norwich's rivers.
