Nature and biodiversity

We want Pilling Park to be richer in wildlife and more welcoming for people to enjoy nature. Our proposals build on what is already here and add new features across the park.

What we are proposing:

  • New wildflower meadows in two places. The first would extend the established meadow already growing in the south of the park. The second would be a new meadow behind the existing seating area near the car park. Wildflower areas support bees, butterflies and other pollinators, and bring colour to the park through spring and summer.
  • New tree avenues along the central path, creating a green, shaded route and homes for birds and insects.
  • New seating within a planting area by the proposed running track, where existing trees can create natural shade.
1.

How do you feel about the plans for new wildflower meadows and tree avenues?

2.

Alongside meadows and trees, which of these would you like to see?
