Stock Condition Survey — What we did and what you told us
Knowing the condition of our tenants' homes helps us plan repairs, maintain safety standards, and invest in improvements in the right places. But getting access to carry out surveys has always been a challenge.
To help, we used the Housing Hub to ask tenants a simple question: when is it most convenient for a surveyor to visit?
We asked three short questions: preferred day, preferred time, and best way to contact you if you're unavailable. The responses helped our surveyors plan visits around tenants' schedules, making access much more likely.
The approach worked. A number of tenants who responded also got in touch to book their survey directly, and those appointments took place at times that suited them.
What you told us
Preferred day: Monday was the most popular choice (9 responses), followed by Tuesday and Saturday (6 each).
Preferred time: Early morning was the clear favourite (11 responses), with lunchtime and afternoon both scoring 7.
If unavailable: Most tenants preferred to be contacted by email (15), followed by telephone (8) and text message (7).
We'll continue to use what we've learned here to improve how we communicate about future surveying work.
