Pride in Place — Heartsease and Pilling Park

Love where you live? Want to make a difference?

Heartsease and Pilling Park have been awarded up to £20 million over the next 10 years by the UK Government to improve your neighbourhood — and local people will decide how it's spent. Whether that's improving green spaces, creating new facilities, or supporting local services, the priorities will be set by the community, not the council.

Our three guiding principles are:

  • Thriving places: that are greener, safer and better-connected
  • Stronger communities: activities and spaces that bring people together
  • Empowering people to take back control: decisions made by you, not for you

Our first step is to set up a Neighbourhood Board, a group made up mostly of local residents, to create a Neighbourhood Plan. This plan will set out what the community wants to see and guide how the £20 million is invested.

Expressions of interest for the Board closed on 31 May, and we’re going through the applications and will be appointing a Board by the middle of July – watch this space! The Board will be volunteers made up of local people who know the area and care about it.

Over the coming months we’ll be out and about in the neighbourhood seeking your views as to what matters to you. We’re also welcoming your views right now and there are two quick ways for all residents to get involved straight away.

Tell us what matters to you — complete our short survey to share what you love about the neighbourhood, where you go day-to-day, and what your priorities are for the future. It takes around five minutes.

Put it on the map — use our interactive map to pinpoint the places you value and the spots you think could benefit most from investment.
