Love where you live? Want to make a difference?

Heartsease and Pilling Park have been awarded up to £20 million over the next 10 years by the UK Government to improve your neighbourhood — and local people will decide how it's spent. Whether that's improving green spaces, creating new facilities, or supporting local services, the priorities will be set by the community, not the council.

Our three guiding principles are:

  • Thriving places: that are greener, safer and better-connected
  • Stronger communities: activities and spaces that bring people together
  • Empowering people to take back control: decisions made by you, not for you

Our first step is to set up a Neighbourhood Board, a group made up mostly of local residents, to create a Neighbourhood Plan. This plan will set out what the community wants to see and guide how the £20 million is invested.

We're looking for local people to join the Board. This is a voluntary role, and you don't need any formal experience. What matters most is that you know the area and care about it. We welcome people from all walks of life: parents, carers, long-term residents, workers and volunteers.

As a Board member, you'll listen to local views, work with others, and help guide plans and investment decisions that affect your community.

We're looking for people who:

  • care about the local area and understand everyday life here
  • can listen well and communicate with others
  • are willing to work collaboratively and reliably
  • can help think through challenges and find solutions

Training and support will be provided. Please click here to read through the board member role description. We're committed to making the Board accessible and respectful of your time.

How to apply

Complete the Expression of Interest form by Sunday 31 May. Paper copies are available on request by emailing community@norwich.gov.uk

Other ways to get involved

Alongside Board recruitment, there are two quick ways for all residents to share their views right now.

Tell us what matters to you — complete our short survey to share what you love about the neighbourhood, where you go day-to-day, and what your priorities are for the future. It takes around five minutes.

Put it on the map — use our interactive map to pinpoint the places you value and the spots you think could benefit most from investment.
