- Following the installation of three all-weather tennis courts, a recreational area has been created south of the courts. The proposal includes improving the grass and designating the area as a dog-free recreational space with picnic benches.
- This area is currently an open green space which was previously a bowls green. The proposal includes creating an accessible natural area, dogs will be welcome but to be kept on leads.
What are the proposals?
The proposals are currently high-level to ensure public feedback can adequately influence the final plans for Heigham Park. There are two high-level proposals to enhance and improve Heigham Park put forward by Norwich City Council and The Friends of Heigham Park.
Proposal A: To designate Area A as a dog-free grass recreational area with picnic benches.
Proposal B: To create an accessible natural area and new pond in Area B to enhance biodiversity and link with existing habitats in the park.
What is a management plan?
The management plan provides a framework for the management, maintenance and the development of the park.
It allows users and friends groups to be involved in advocating the parks needs like improving accessibility or play equipment.
